British Championships
The British Campionships were held on 11th/12th August at Lilleshall. Congratulations go to Sue Mailtland,Tina James and Gillian Brown who finished 10th 14th, and 18th respectively in the Ladies Recurve. Graham Mitchell finished 4th in the Gents Recurve, and Elaine McLean finished 16th in the Ladies Compound.
Club member off to India
Congratulations to Penicuik Archer Elayne McLean for her selection to the Scotland Team who are participate along with the other Home Nations in the forthcoming Commonwealth Cup, to be held in Jamshedpur (near Calcutta) India between 7th & 11th November 2006.
Elayne will compete in the ladies compound event. She said " I am looking forward to the challenge of competing against archers of the highest calibre and will do my very best. I am unsure how the Scottish Team will manage in the hot and humid conditions but it will make a change from standing out in the driving rain on a Saturday or Sunday on the Penicuik High School sports field.
To make this a family affair Elayne's husband, Norrie McLean (Chairman of Penicuik Archers) is also going. He is the National Team Manager is will be responsible for ensuring that the whole experience will be as trouble free as possible for the Scottish Team.
